Joburg Market Youth Desk
In an effort to generate interest amongst youths to become involved in agriculture, the Joburg Market created a Youth Desk that will hopefully see many young people venture into agriculture-related businesses – from primary producers to handling logistics, processing and packaging of produce.
The Youth Desk, a brainchild of the Joburg Market CEO, Kgosientso Ramokgopa, aims to develop agricultural awareness and cultivate skills among youth, particularly school leavers. The Joburg Market has come up with a catchy phrase ‘Let your life count for something’, a call to action for the youth to rise up and seize opportunities in the fresh produce value chain.
